Cvusbdrvbus_257 Driver
Hi, We received new machines (Dell 7440) and unfortunately our exisitng MDT deployment doesn't work for these machines. We are using MDT 2013 Update 1 and WDS. My guess is that we are missing some drivers - do you have any ideas where to go from here? Here are the details: I can PXE boot to WDS just fine on 7440. When I choose an OS from the boot menu, after the Task Sequence starts I get this message: 'A connection to the deployment share ( 192.168.0.43 DeploymentShare$) could not be made.
This driver has been tested by both the independent software vendor (ISV) and Dell on the operating systems, graphics cards, and application supported by your device to ensure maximum compatibility and performance. This one is a real pain. I installed the aforementioned drivers, both the Intel NIC driver and the WINPE 5.0 pack to no avail. At first the computer couldn't even see the updated image on the server due to the NIC driver missing. I had a spare Realtek PCIe NIC laying around and dropped that in.
Connection OK. Possible cause: invalid credentials.' (credentials are fine - work OK for all other computers) When I try to ping from the command line right after that I get this message: 'PING: transmit failed. Crouzet usb driver windows 7. General failure.' Which makes me think about issues with the drivers rather than MDT itself. I can deploy images via MDT to all other computer models just fine. The only affected model is Dell 7440.
Any ideas what I may be missing? Do I need to inject new drivers somewhere in the Task Sequence? Oh my venus ep 15 eng sub eng.
Would they be Win PE 10 drivers or Dell 7440 drivers? Thanks a lot for all feedback! EDIT: I followed your advice - added WinPE 10 drivers, updated Deployment Share, added newly created.wim to WDS and voila! Thank you very much everyone for your contribution! Be sure you have the Dell CAB drivers page bookmarked going forward as you'll refer back to it regularly for new models: There are two parts to the MDT deployment.
It sounds like you are getting stuck on the very beginning of the deployment where the Windows PE portion of MDT doesn't have proper drivers in order for it to kick off and reach your deployment share (to then kick off and start the actual deployment). At that link, you'll see a section for 'WinPE - CAB Availability' with a few different versions under it. The latest two are WinPE 10.0 and WinPE 5.0.
They contain the network card drivers for all Dell models and are crucial to getting the Windows PE portion of MDT to work. I think I have WinPE 5.0 downloaded and it has worked for all models I've tried though I haven't yet gotten a 7000 series laptop from Dell. You'll want to download those drivers to your hard drive and import them into your deployment. Make a folder called something like 'Windows PE Dell 5.0' and have it under your 'Out-of-Box Drivers' portion. Under the 'Advanced Configuration' portion of MDT, right-click on 'Selection Profiles' and add a new profile.
