Hi, I have been trying to configure powerchute for a standalone ESX all day today, without positive result. Don't know what's going wrong, could use some help. First things first: we're using esx 6.5, single host.

The APC has firmware revision 06.6 (ID23). All hosts in the same subnet. Powerchute version 4.2 deployed from the ova. The issues start at the wizard: when trying to connect to the UPS, there is a long delay (the client is linked in the ups) after which the powerchute site claims it didn't receive any info back from the UPS. I have disabled iptables and reset all passwords I wasn't sure of. After finishing the wizard (ignoring the UPS error), I lose connection to my ESX host. The username is cleared in the powerchute UI and the password seems to be changed.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing? You are correct that the FJX3000RMHV2UNC is one we manufacture for Fujitsu. It is the same unit as APC model number SMX3000RMHV2UNC. The firmware you specified in your original post would be the UPS firmware, not the network management card firmware. The latest version of firmware for the UPS itself is 6.8 and the UPS must be turned off to upgrade the firmware on the UPS itself. It is unlikely that the UPS firmware is causing this problem, so I would not recommend upgrading it at this moment. However, I have linked an FAQ regarding the UPS firmware below for you so you have the information if you wish to upgrade the firmware.

No* *YMMV, no warranty expressed or implied, caveat emptor, carpe diem, etcetera. Seriously, it shouldn't but those aren't 'server' class devices, they are home/home office. Looking at this page it looks like they only come with the Personal Edition, so you're not going to be able to install it on a server anyway.
